The Best Thing to Happen to You this Week
Well, it’s only Monday, so I guess we should stretch it back to last week as well?
Honestly, last week was one of the most emotional, stressful, draining weeks I’ve dealt with in a long time. I got as much sleep in 3 days as most people get in one night. I cried, I hyperventilated, I almost gave up.
But there are little things that have happened in the last week that have kept me going.
My friends have been great. I took a chance in reaching out to them for guidance on this, or at least use them as a sounding board and while I know a lot of them are wary of my choices, they’ve all been supportive of me as long as I am happy. We drank, we laughed, we overshared, and it made me realize the great support system I have.
And there are the moments with him. Spending time with someone who might not be around again teaches you about taking things for granted. All those times when we were together and I just accepted blindly he would be there. Now, every time I say goodbye, I know that he might decide it’s the last time. It’s a lesson in giving up control.
I think I’m starting to learn. And I think that’s the best thing to happen to me all week.
