Your Religious Beliefs

I wrote more about this over here but basically I’m agnostic.

I grew up with a Jewish father and a technically Christian mother, although she stopped going to church when she was a teenager, so we never went either. I’ve been to synagogue a few times for some of the high holy days, But religion was never forced down my throat and I’m really glad about that. It’s let me form my own beliefs and be open to other ideas. I sometimes get jealous of people with strong faiths in God, I think it must be comforting in hard times to turn to prayer for guidance. But I couldn’t go that far. 

There are also too many people who use religion for hate and that doesn’t sit well with me. Trying to read the Bible in a way that lets you hate on women or gays or whatever, just doesn’t seem right. Religion should be about acceptance and love, not hate.
